Music in Lanark's next concert is on SATURDAY 1st NOVEMBER.

Tim Kliphuis Trio

The Tim Kliphuis Trio are one of the world’s top string groups, combining jaw-dropping virtuosity and mesmerising improvisations with a beautifully varied repertoire sourced from classical music, Grappelli’s gypsy jazz and folk. They were founded in 2006, after meeting in Café Cossachok, a small Russian cultural café in Glasgow. The Trio’s electrifying performances and remarkable audience rapport have made them firm favourites on the festival scene.

BrochureThe Sage (Gateshead) described them as "Delivering the most breathtaking instrumental show you’ll hear all year, this world-famous Trio are not to be missed! Dutchman Tim Kliphuis (violin) and top Scots Nigel Clark (guitar) and Roy Percy (bass) perform a profoundly musical blend of styles. Their beautiful arrangements, mesmerising improvisations and telepathic interplay have captured the hearts of audiences round the globe."

The Scotsman reported enthusiastically “Playfully inventive and technically brilliant”, so this promises to be a remarkable evening.

The concert is on Saturday 1st November at 7.45pm in the Robert Owen Room at New Lanark Mill Hotel (the different venue due to the Tapestry of Scotland exhibition in The Institute).

Tickets £10 (£1 school age) online at, or from Playful Greetings/Lanark Post Office, Tariq's Newsagents and New Lanark Gift Shop. Also at the door. Pre-concert dinners available at New Lanark Mill Hotel (01555 667200).
